Jane Alison is an independent curator, consultant and writer with a specialist interest in post-war art in Britain. Former Head of Visual Arts at Barbican Jane has curated a wide range of critically acclaimed exhibitions including, most recently, Postwar Modern: New Art in Britain 1945-1965. 

 

This talk will consider Jean Cooke’s significance in the postwar period in Britain, especially with regard to her life at Birling Gap and her landscape works.
