Kitty Hudson reviews John Armstrong: Paintings 1938-1958
Writing for Candid Magazine, academic and journalist Kitty Hudson has reviewed the gallery's John Armstrong exhibition. Bringing together an analysis of works from the exhibition and quotations from the catalogue Hudson explores the enigma of John Armstrong's works. She writes that "Armstrong's work assimilates the fear of war and hopes of fresh beginnings in contemplative yet unsettling compositions - it speaks of timeless truths and warnings that are equally applicable today. It is certainly time for a reappraisal."
